About Peaches of Chelsea

A place where children are met exactly as they are.

I'm Parin — a BACP-registered child and adolescent counsellor offering integrative, trauma-informed counselling through art-based therapy for children aged 5 to 16. My work is held with warmth, patience and a deep respect for the inner world of every child — a safe, unhurried space where each one is met exactly as they are, without judgment.

I gently support children moving through anxiety, emotional overwhelm, grief, family change and the after-effects of difficult or frightening experiences. Working always at the child's own pace, I use art, play and mindful creativity to help them express what they cannot yet put into words — so they can feel safe within themselves again, and find their way softly back to who they are.

How We Work

Our therapeutic palette

A blend of creative, body-based and mindfulness approaches — because children express, process and heal in many different ways. The modality follows the child, never the other way around.

Art-Based Therapy

Drawing, painting, clay, collage and mixed media as therapeutic tools for expression and processing

Mindfulness

Age-appropriate practices to build self-awareness, calm the nervous system and regulate emotion

Music

Rhythm, sound and music as a therapeutic bridge — powerful for children who find words difficult

Movement

Body-based approaches to help children connect with and regulate their sensory experience

Play-Based

Imaginative and structured play as a therapeutic language — how children naturally make sense of their world

"Therapy is not about fixing a child — it's about honouring their story and empowering their voice."

For Parents

Support for the grown-ups, too

Three offerings for parents — each different in format, all held in the same spirit. Intimate, honest, and built around what parenting actually feels like from the inside.

once a month, made by hand
A monthly art workshop for parents

The Studio

Once a month, a small group of parents come together online to make something. Each session is built around a theme from the real emotional landscape of parenting — and a single guided image everyone draws together. The image is the same for everyone. What each parent discovers within it is entirely their own. No art experience needed.

The Inner Parent

Themes include Parenting Through the Hard Seasons, Understanding Your Child, and Raising a Child Between Worlds.

The Clearing

In nature, a clearing is where the trees open up — where light reaches the ground and there is suddenly room to see, to breathe, to stand still. This is that space for parents. A small group of six. A different topic each month. No commitment beyond that evening. You arrive, you think, you talk honestly, and you leave with a little more light than you came in with.

Questions Parents Ask

Things you might be wondering

If your question isn't here, please get in touch and we'll talk it through.

How do I know if my child needs therapy?
If something feels off — they're more withdrawn, more reactive, having more meltdowns, struggling at school, sleeping less well — your instinct is worth trusting. Therapy isn't only for crisis. Many children benefit from a calm, creative space simply to process what they're carrying. A complimentary intro call is the gentlest way to explore whether it's the right fit.
What happens in a session — won't my child just refuse to talk?
Sessions are creative, not conversational. We use art, music, mindfulness, play and movement — so children rarely need to "talk about feelings" directly. They show me through what they make, choose, draw and move. The pace is set by them. Most children are surprised by how much they enjoy it.
Is online therapy effective for children?
Yes, when done well. I have a specific online practice designed for children — materials for the session sent ahead, screen-time-aware structure, parents quietly nearby when needed. Many children actually find it easier to open up in their own room with their own art supplies. We can discuss whether it's right for your child on the intro call.
How many sessions will my child need?
A minimum of six sessions is recommended so we can build the relationship and begin the work — but the length depends entirely on your child. Some children move quickly through a specific concern; others benefit from longer, slower support. We review together regularly.
Are you BACP registered and insured?
Yes — I'm a registered member of the BACP (No. 413924), bound by their ethical framework, and fully insured. I work under regular clinical supervision and follow strict safeguarding procedures. You can verify my registration on the BACP website.
What's your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for 48 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. With shorter notice, the session is normally charged in full — though life does happen, and I'll always be flexible where I can. The policy is there to honour the time held for your family.
